Protect them

The worlds children with eyes so wide and bright,

Curious eyes looking to the world around them.

Thinking what a safe place it is.

Yet we cheat our children out of knowing,

For the world is not safe.

With all of it's violence and war,

And yet to a child.

It seems to be a place of protection.

We lie to our children to keep them from harms way...

However, if harm doesn't find them,

They find it in anger and bloodshed.

If we can't protect our children who will?

We must save them,

For they have saved us many times before.

They saved us from a world we did not want to know,

They save us with each smile every laugh,

So now it is up to us.

Save them again and again.

Always let them know how much you care

They may not know.
