Pressure

Standards and measuring up.

When standards of society define us,

We lose our true happiness.

When standards of our parents define us,

We cease being individuals.

When standards of teachers define us,

We become naught but numbers.

When standards of our own define us,

We can never measure up.

When standards of bosses define us,

We have no value.

When standards of churches define us,

We sin endlessly, but are saved.

When standards of foreign cultures define us,

We remain the outsiders.

When standards of social media define us,

We fail in business and dating.

Stop giving us standards.

I'm human and that's about it.
