Where Beauty Lies

How quiet is it really when you start to listen to your soul?

Everything is so loud in the silence

The beating of wings deafening

The child's voice roaring a song-scream

The wind in the Heavens thunderous

The turning of my pages cacophony

Even my breath is audible,

The beating of my heart a living tremble

The twittering of birds doubly loud

And wind chimes an entire orchestra alone

The garden is a bustling city

Leaves skittering like New York traffic

Across the concrete patio

Bees buzzing eat up the quiet

But the silence in my peaceful mind

Is absolute.
