Poem

We need a stove to heat this house!

We need candles to light this house!

We need snow to melt so we can bath

These are our unanswered prayers!

We need medicine because grandma sick!

We need blankets for pallets on the floor!

We need wood to patch up leaky ceilings!

These are our unanswered prayers!

We need food to feed the children!

We need books to teach the children!

We need church to save our children

These are our unanswered prayers!

I need a drink to escape my woes!

I need a high to escape my sorrows!

I need a fix to fix my thoughts!

These are our unanswered prayers!

Mama what happened to we?

Daddy what happened to we?

When did “I” become more important than “we”?

These are our unanswered prayers!

Baby, I must fix I so we can be a better we!

Mama, if you and daddy stick together then we can be a stronger we and all of our prayers will be answered together!
