Poetry Means

When my muse isn't singing, and I'm feeling uninspired

Poetry prompts are just the thing to get my creativity fired

A word, a phrase, a picture can all ignite a spark

And suddenly my pen is moving as though my muse left her mark

The world's a canvas, full of colors and hues

And with these prompts, my imagination runs loose

Write about a memory from childhood long ago

Or describe the feelings of a lover you used to know

A list of random words can also do the trick

Leading my mind down paths that are sure to stick

With these prompts, the possibilities are endless

And my poetry, once dormant, becomes relentless

So thank you, prompts, for setting my soul free

And making poetry a possibility for me.
