Poetry for Ghosts

A conversation

By Moyana GebhardtPublished about a year ago 1 min read

You only talk

To me

When no one’s

Around

Except for those

Rare

Occasions

When I hear you

Through someone else’s

Mouth

You’re very clever

The way you slip

In like that

Making me gasp

And I hate to tell

You this

But I have something

You’ve been looking for

And you have something

Of mine too

And I know

You took it with you

When you passed over

Into some other dimension

I see you trying

To hand it me

Fingers outstretched

And curling upward

Before the whole thing

Disappears

Like fog in the light

Of day

I’ve loved

All the little gifts

You’ve left me

Everywhere

You’re just everywhere

But maybe you could

Come back

Somehow

Because I keep

Feeling

Like we need

To have an exchange

And I need

To feel you

Breathing

love poems
