How it all started at first was crazy

heart was like "yes," brain was like "maybe"

all while stargazing on the top of a mercedes

I don't think you come off as serious as you seem

(maybe even a little fake)

"look, I'm about a real as COVID-19"

I really oughtta hurt you for poking fun

of thousands of deaths before we've done

our job of flattening the curve

which we're currently not doing

and I'm kinda growing tired

of the jokes you're spewing

Though we're still six feet apart

and six days later

you're blowing up my phone

telling me about your ex and how you hate her

I'm not your therapist

and now I'm not your friend

and my life snaps back to

when the contagion first spread
