My family is going through a transitory phase - we cannot decide whether to leave my father-in-law, who has dementia at an Eldercare Facility during the day.
The decision is tough. On the one hand, there is a feeling of neglect - understandably so. On the other, no one at home has the expertise to care for him themselves.
My father-in-law's stubbornness makes it tougher to decide.
And there we have a persistent puzzle - how do we decide between what is best and managing feelings?
Not to trivialize the situation, but it takes a weighing of options, being adaptable, a trust of the self, and yes, being tough when the situation calls for it.
And that's the nature of life -it's a persistent puzzle that cannot be solved at once.
We take it a day at a time. Enjoy these cinquains.
Puzzle
Persists, insists
Pieces scattered and hard to find
An every-present conundrum
To solve
Puzzle
Fits in all ways
One must choose the angle
And change fluid form when needed
To fix.
