Peace Talks
For the Extraterrestrial Challenge
The aliens, they have arrived,
It’s given me a chill.
It has been quite a challenge,
Requiring strength of will.
We meet today, for talks of peace
It should go well, that is until,
We present them with their final invoice
And ask them to pay the bill.
—————
This war is devastating,
So much history is lost .
But if these aliens want peace
They’ll have to count the cost,
Of that landmarks that they have destroyed,
Of the borders they have crossed.
We offered them our terms,
When negotiators we did accost.
—————
Now listen, our armies still stand strong,
Uniformed in all their grey.
Hear the cheers and celebrations
Now the enemy’s at bay.
A peace now has to be arrived,
As all sides are wont to pray.
It’s the Yanks who found your weakness,
On their Independence Day.
—————
Now representatives of all our nations
Are sat around the table.
The world has never been united
As this intercontinental stable.
And now we are victorious,
How long can we keep this label?
Because the next invaders we face
Might find themselves more able.
—————
But, for now, we talk a peace,
Now they know that Earth won’t wilt.
The first point that must be addressed,
Is reparations for their guilt.
They know now they’re in trouble,
With our hands upon the hilt.
So that after Independence Day,
The Earth can be rebuilt.
