Ophelia’s Mine Rhyme

By: Mia Athey

Tick, Tock goes the clock, betwixt two rocks I sit in shock,

Hour hand on them, minute hand on him, I relinquish my scruples with every whim.

My patience unstitched with every second, my garment undone as his hands beckoned,

Once ingénue without clue, is now undue through his taboo.

Click, clack, one brain cell here another there, goes my sanity beyond repair,

For he loves me today, dismisses me the morrow, still I believe he’ll soothe my sorrow.

Frick, frack, insane the name that I now claim for silly blame,

My unbalanced scale too frail to prevail is now the female they can no longer avail.
