You're the luckiest when you open your heart

When you let go and open the door

Freedom rushes in and kisses your face

When you don't hold the hurt anymore

The release that you feel when you finally let go

To the anger the hurt and the pain

When you surrender to the love that’s inside you

When you get back to living again

It doesn’t mean that you didn’t learn something

Your mistakes have helped you to grow

It gives you the chance to be happy again

To love in spite of everything that you know

To love someone isn't all romance

Its not laughter and calm all the time

Its ugly and raw and its passion

Fighting for us - erasing the lines-

-That we drew in the sand to protect ourselves

To stay angry held away from the hurt

But all we succeeded in doing

was burying our love in the dirt

Letting you back in is scary, I know that you feel the same

But my pride isn’t worth losing us, saving us, is worth losing that game

To admit we messed up and made mistakes, the us we tried hard to deny

It wasn’t as easy as we both thought it would be. I guess we weren’t made for goodbye

So I’m not afraid to say that I love you

I will say it till you understand

Its not sappy and it doesn’t show weakness

When I give to you all that I am

In fact real love shows strength that is fearless

The ugly cant scare it away

When its real and you let down your guard

Peace comes with the decision to stay

Time to let go, and let be what will be

grace required nothing of me from the start

forever? well, that remains to be seen

Let freedom in and surrender your heart
