Once in a Life is a Love True
Only one love in life
Once in a life is a love true,
That err the world to forget, and fall out of view
When icy eyes last laid eyes on you;
This is an enchantment that will go by,
I tell myself as the years go by,
But I can only focus my mind on her,
My once in a life destined partner;
Now do I (from afar) stalk at her pretty locks,
And let my heart lonely and cold, at the stroke of the clock
Or do I lust after this loveliness,
With our hearts in hand, our love in lock,
My hair in rand with her flowing tress,
Our fingers a basketweave, carrying the meals of our mirth;
Because it’s only a matter of time, and it’s only a matter of truth,
If I could latch this feeling by it’s stubborn roots,
And hoe these virtues, of sunken fruits, that say:
There cannot be another, nor a love of two
Because once in a life is a love true
