A weapon of destruction and fear,

The nuclear bomb is a nightmare so clear,

A force of devastation so immense,

That its power makes no sense.

Born out of science, wielded by war,

It's a symbol of humanity's darkest core,

A deadly tool of power and might,

That can wipe out entire cities in one fell strike.

The mushroom cloud, a sign of doom,

A symbol of our impending gloom,

A warning to all of what we can do,

And what we must avoid, too.

For the nuclear bomb, a double-edged sword,

Can bring us peace or bring us discord,

It's up to us to use it wisely,

Or face the consequences that come unwisely.

So let us learn from history's past,

And work to ensure that this weapon doesn't last,

For the sake of all life on this earth,

Let us work towards a world of nuclear dearth.
