Nothing is True
Rap Rock Poem by Daniel Benisty
Nothing is True by Daniel Benisty
If the truth hurts, wear a bullet proof shirt.
If the truth kills, take some more pills.
If the truth lies, wear another disguise.
If the truth dreams of fantasy and scenes,
Let it flow so the writers know
You still believe, still believe.
It’s a fake dream we cling to.
It’s a fake scene we switch tv to.
It’s a fake god we worship to.
But if your soul screams to be redeemed,
Let it flow so your preacher knows
You still believe, still believe.
Because Nothing is True
It's just inside your mind
Nothing is Right
It's a Figment of our Time.
It’s a cruel world the papers say.
It’s a fools gold that dreamers pray.
It’s a dead cert they’ll make you pay.
For everything that comes your way,
So let them know in your deathly throes:
You still believe, still believe.
If the truth jokes, light another smoke.
If the truth hides, play it like a child.
If the truth drinks, it might tell you what it thinks.
If the truth dreams of fantasies and scenes,
Let it flow so the writers know:
You still believe, still believe.
Because Nothing is True
It's just inside your mind
Nothing is Right
It's a Figment of our Time.
Nothing is True
It's just inside your mind
Nothing is True
You're not even alive.
