Holes in the Memory

Holes in the Memory
by Daniel Benisty
Finally I've found the answer to it all
I'd been looking at life like a linear fool
Like starting at the bottom and rising too tall
But it's all just holes in the memory.
You see they tell us to honour our folks
To respect the past like its not a joke
To love god, though with a fear remote,
But its all just holes in the memory
Questions like "Who created who?" -
And how God himself was created too -
Are missing the point, there is no answer true,
It's all just holes in the memory.
For every time you reveal a source
Theres another behind waiting in due course
To be questioned about its eternal force
But it's all just holes in the memory
First child, then father, then sage, then priest
Then king, then country, then God then the East
But its not a straight line it’s just a circle of dreams,
And they're all just holes in the memory
Everything has already made itself clear
In your last life, on your death bed, as your soul shed a tear
But since then you’ve forgotten the reason we’re here
It's all just holes in the memory.
Seems its just a circle, no beginning and no end
Stuck in a clock, in a game of pretend
No way to remember what God really intends,
It's all just holes in the memory.
So don’t talk to me about the linear way
Don’t frighten me with “sin of the day “
I didn’t come here to take away pain and anyway
It's all just holes in the memory.
