Nonna's Magic Touch.
A poem about the magical cooking of an Italian grandmother.
In a realm where healing finds its way,
Where fractured souls seek solace’s sway,
Amidst the shadows that taint the heart,
A remedy emerges, a work of culinary art.
Behold the cauldron, the melting pot,
Where cheese unfurls, a comforting clot,
Herby tomato sauce, vibrant and bold,
Together they meld, a story yet untold.
With gentle whispers, the heat doth rise,
As fragmented pieces begin to harmonise,
Beneath the flickering flame’s tender dance,
Mending fragments, offering a second chance.
The cheese, a salve, so velvety and warm,
Enfolds the wounds, a soothing balm,
Its creamy essence, a promise to heal,
Embracing the fractures, an eternal seal.
The herbs weave tales of nature’s embrace,
Their aromatic whispers in sacred grace,
Basil, oregano, thyme, and rosemary,
Unveiling secrets, unlocking hearts’ treasury.
Tomatoes, vibrant orbs of crimson delight,
Lend their essence, a love that ignites,
Their tangy sweetness, a touch of bliss,
Reviving hope, sealing the abyss.
The melding of flavors, a delicate chore,
Transforming sorrow into something more,
The fractured soul, now mending as one,
Through melted cheese and sauce, a victory won.
So take a bite, let the healing unfold,
Allow the taste to mend what was once untold,
For in this culinary alchemy, love thrives,
As fractured souls embrace and truly revive.
A recipe to mend, to heal, and unite,
With melted cheese and herby sauce, ignite,
The fractured soul, made whole and complete,
In a symphony of flavors, life’s bitter turns, sweet.
