Nightmare Fuel

On Dreaming about Nightmares

By Silver Serpent BooksPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Your dreams don't interest me,

But your nightmares do.

.

I can see them smoking in your eyes,

Hear them throwing fog

Across your words

And cluttering up your throat.

.

How hungry it makes me

To press my lips to your ear

And inhale those sweet delights,

Your bitter little terrors.

.

There is nothing left to my nightmares.

I have run from my monsters,

Collapsed in front of them,

And been dragged home.

.

I have glared down glistening fangs

To find I am not terrified

By these familiar faces of fear.

And I hunger for it,

To feel the tremble in my fingertips

And the rank breath of monsters

In my hair.

.

So, I turn to you,

A coward full of terrors and nightmares,

Plump with promise and fresh fear.

.

I can see them, dancing in your eyes.

And I want them.

.

I want those bitter delights

And I will have them.
