Her first sunset

The air was holding her so calmly.

It feels sweet outside

The flowers are full of grace.

Her eyes were now open

She could finally see her face

I have no words to describe right now but

This is what she sees

How the sun smiles

The trees are sharp and warm

So brown and green but the yellow lays on leaves

My eyes are stuck on the beauty of

What I missed from here

This one life, we get one chance

How lucky am I

To longer be fueled by fear

The field of grass was welcoming her

She could no longer speak

Eyes were focused while the sky became tired

No longer a blur

Her first sunset was sweet

Sore eyes, they say

Mine were dripping

I didn’t wipe the tears away

Together we weeped

The sun, the trees and just me
