Never forget about the freedom that we fight for. Never forget what our ancestors prayed all day and night for.

Never forget how our ancestors struggle to stay strong being worked to death like cattle all day long.

Never forget how easily our parents were taken from our sons and daughters and it was an act of mercy to be slaughtered.

Never forget when Black children didn’t have a fear of death because pain and suffering accompanied every breath.

Never forget when it seemed like all we ever knew was defeat and the smallest moment of joy felt like the greatest treat.

Never forget the agony. Never forget the ancestors who created triumph out of tragedy.

Never forget the days when we were roped and chained. Never forgetting means our ancestors didn’t suffer in vain.

Never forget the way things used to be. Never ever forget how blessed we are to be free.

~~Dedicated to our ancestors who didn’t make it to Juneteenth.

Your line, "Never forget when Black children didn’t have a fear of death because pain and suffering accompanied every breath." resonates with me. Unfortunately, many still do not fear death because death would be a relief. Thank you for writing this!
