My soul caught fire

There was a spark

And then a sudden blast

Hard to contain

It spread so fast

My dreams turned to ash

It singed my spirit

And scorched my love

It consumed all of me

Smoke and soot

Filled my eyes

Made it hard for me to see

Someone should have doused me with water

I would have much rather drowned

Because that pain was so intense

It took me to the ground

There was a summer that I learned not to play with liars

I wish I knew then, what I know now, he set my world on fire
