Prometheus, he kneeled before me
And carefully stole from the gods
All that my soul desired, all
*
Devious, he approached his hand to me
With the blessing of fire, he’s odd
But careless of himself he’s free
*
Prometheus, he lit his lighter
And though he was bleeding tired
He chose to steal the fire
*
For me
*
Prometheus, he then stared
As I discovered the light
Was in his eyes, he was scared
*
As in a long starred night
When Romeo fears Juliet’s death nigh
But not his own demise
*
Prometheus, he nothing else feared
Nothing, since nothing I feared
Such was his titanic love
*
With gold, he touched my lips
“Too sweet for cigar” he objected
But he always lies while a zippo he strips
*
Prometheus, he the gods and Zeus cursed
And they chastised him away
We only have together left today
*
My Prometheus, I’ll never forget
That you doomed yourself
Just for my cigarette.
