My Eyes

When I pass away,

And the heavens hear your cries,

Take what you need,

But please leave my eyes.

These windows to my soul have witnessed life's grand tapestry.,

They've seen sunsets' fiery hues and moonlit reverie.

My eyes have known the joy of love's sweet embrace

and glistened with tears in sorrow's tender grace.

Let them rest in peace as my spirit takes flight,

in the boundless realm of eternal light.

Memories held within, like stars in the night,

guide you through darkness, with their gentle, soft light.

So, take what you must, my dear, in fond goodbyes,

but in my peaceful slumber, please leave my eyes.

My whole life I've tried to give as best as I could because it was taught to me that to be kind, you must give. Give a smile, give some comfort, give what you can to bring light to everyone else. Be kind. I believe to the best of my abilities I have lived by this mantra that's been ingrained in me. I've given and I do plan to give more when I pass, but not my eyes. My eyes are my own and an integral part of my personal beliefs. My eyes are my soul, not just some window to peer through. They are how I communicate and how I express myself.
