My Computer
Computer Poem by John Matthews
My computer is a piece of junk
The A drive is in a funk
The Internet freezes up
The modem takes so long to load
My pictures will not print out right
My keyboard sometimes doesn’t type
The CD’s I put in they skip
The burner doesn’t burn a bit
I can’t save my reports no more
My spell check is on snore
I keep getting disconnected
And sometimes can’t reconnect
My computer shuts of when I’m typing
I don’t get to finish my writing
I have to start all over again
This computer is not my friend
I guess I’ll have to take it to the shop
Maybe they can fix it on the spot
But if not, I’ll buy a new one
Because this computer really shot.

We'z Walking on a Path Ruled By Numbers
This road has felt endless, yet limited; every step tracked. Inching away along this path, I feel trapped. Confined. Left to this narrow passage that may one day amount to something greater. Time is not a concept. Only distance. From start to finish, I laugh and cry and attempt to convince myself that this is worth it. I cannot stray. I must keep going. Every step etched, is a step taken, is measured as more than before. I cannot even recall how I got here. Maybe I don’t even really exist. Just another tick marking off a perceived presence. Of what though? I am just another line drawn. Nothing more, nothing less.
