Morning Moon

You are safe when she’s around,

But then she’s always there, isn’t she?

You keep doing your work,

Keep living your life,

Keep spreading love and care,

You will hardly notice her,

But there she is, guiding you,

Through all your turmoil and threats,

Nipping your demons in the bud and

Giving you a blessed new day to live and love.

Like a morning moon, forever present but barely evident,

She was there with you even before you saw your first light,

The real Godmother, the true savior, the trustworthy partner in crime,

She’ll let you fall only to make you strong and perennially resilient,

She’s seen you cry, cheat, betray, sad, angry, happy, and hopeless,

She’s seen all of your deepest desires and needs and vulnerabilities,

How could she miss anything? She’s always there with you,

Like a morning moon, you are not trained enough to notice her,

You need to slow down, lower your gears, step on that brake, sharpen your senses,

To feel her, to be with her, talk to her, to your morning moon.
