Restless; a ship on choppy seas
Blanketed in nostalgia
Painted in moonlit melancholy

Her ribcage
Your fingertips caress
The beating organ inside

The stars fall between you
Keeping you apart
Despite the way
Your love story is
Written in the sky

She is sleepless
Inconsolably somber

The loved don't always forget the lover. Often they never knew them to begin with. Occasionally, they even manage to find & remember one another (& live happily ever after--or at least for awhile).
