Moonlit Fascinations

Lunar Love Affair

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

My Dearest Paramour,

Daylight procrastinates, and the afternoon is long, I endure the hours until, again you sing your song.

I roam the streets and fields at night, lingering silent, in the shadows. across the sea or sky to lie, helplessly in your meadows.

Recalling how it feels, held in your tantalizing glow, time away reveals, there is nowhere else for me to go.

The pull you have on me, much like the pull against the ocean, this dance that we've begun, lyrical poetry in motion.

The yearning of my soul, a call that cannot be denied, your absence leaves a hole, causing the universe to cry.

You play with my emotions, like a game of hide and seek. On evenings bright and balmy, behind the clouds you peek.

Like my imagination, you piqued my interest too. I can hardly wait till dusk, when, once again, I'll be with you.

Forever yours,

K

  • And now I envy the moon. To have such wondrous words filled with longing & desire directed toward us is a precious thing. Beautifully written.

I'm a sucker for any lunar related nice, naughty or nuanced! This piece is no exception. Have some related silly: https://youtu.be/I9MZNEXrElw
