teeth and claws-
surprise roommates.
The first can tear your heart
away from veiled homeports of self-denial
or fabric of fragile esteem.
But claws are needed
to pull away from past self
who hides your mesomorph parts
from the world
and can stop your talent from launching you
into the oosphere.

Don’t fear the digital peashooter of owns and memes
that spammers employ-
vivid semaphore signals,
operas of oomph made from mope and distraction.
Before you shampoo and resmooth
downy armor, once ruffled,
take a moment to peer at the roots below.
Call to the echo in chasms exposed
and let it remind you
who you were always meant to be.

But metaphors make pretty theorems
of the remote sherpa work
to phase into another
atmosphere.
You cannot fortify with armor
the next hopes or they
will become as brittle and frozen in time
as the walls of a tearoom.

The Voyeur's Incandescent Reasoning
The woman sat nonplussed, in the Waiting Room. In a sort of daze, looking straight ahead patiently. She had already had three small breakfast's that morning and a nip of sherry, this was not unusual she would typically wait until an hour after she took her anti-depressant and was her morning routine. She was merely following instructions she assured herself, shifted slightly in her seat and feeling a little heart burn thought, maybe she should skip lunch. Dom had said to have the task done this week. She was well used to his methods and desired to get this over and done with soon. She glanced at her watch, smiled weakly at the Receptionist who was there for a moment and then gone.

Oh this is wonderful. Funny story - I thought one my recent fiction pieces for Just a Minute challenge got Top Story because I used the same image lol.
