Veiled

Just out of reach

By Hailey Marchand-NazzaroPublished 2 years ago 1 min read
Eclipse by Hailey Marchand-Nazzaro

Embers, old and dying, smothered by new flame

Convinced I'd never known love, til you called my name.

Lying in the past, lovers leave my memory

Impossible to see them when you're holding me.

Promise of our future, veiled by your fears

Song says we nearly had it, still ringing in my ears.

Empty hopes lie dormant, your memory held dear.
