One.
In a chair by the window,
Warm, furry blanket
Warm, furry pup by the door.
Trains rattling by,
Stream of colour and sound.
Two.
In a car on a winding highway
Cool mountains tower.
Peek of the city from the top;
Glance over at your smile,
Young and full of optimism.
Three.
On cobblestone streets afar,
Little corner cafes
Hidden gems meant to find
That perfect cup.
We found it there, I think.
Four.
Above barren wasteland
Floating on the wind.
Mossy green stretching;
Billowing gusts
Battering all but our smiles.
Five.
On sandy cliff above the sea,
Feet on hot sand
Cooled by salty ocean spray.
A walk in the park,
Sweet, slow-paced life.
Six.
A green bubble in the city
Coffee over crackling fire
Eggs on cast iron;
They always get stuck
But summer makes up for it.
Seven.
This flash of time reaching into past,
Then a stretch toward future.
Where I sit and reminisce.
Maybe this very moment
Is what I’ll write about next.
