Daily Showers

Poem #4

By Cecilia PennerPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

There’s a rain cloud around me,

It rains nearly everyday.

Though you’d think the rain would make it dissipate,

It always seems to stay.

Most days begin overcast,

The sun brushed over with a hue of grey.

A constant spattering, drizzling,

Growing into stormy haze.

There’s a shade that covers up the light,

A daily gloom I’ve come to hate,

Ashamed, I often try to hide,

To paint over my truest state.

I haven‘t seen the sun in years,

It’s hidden itself away.

A warm reminiscing, missing,

Yet only grey remains.

Upon a new discovery,

E to make me stay?

M I don't have to be alone,

C some folks don't mind the rain.
