Maybe It’s Too Late
Would You Take Me Back
I know it's been a long time
But would you take me back if I asked?
Don't worry it's a big decision for me too
And I'd have to know it would last.
Talking to you today on the phone
Didn't sound so good,
It seems from what you were saying
That you don't know if you could.
Now I'm really frightened
And feel like I'm working against fate,
I've now got to consider if I decide
You are going to tell me it's too late.
Maybe I should be thinking of divorce
And not trying to make our marriage work,
I'm not surprised at your altitude
As we've both been badly hurt.

About the Creator
Colleen Millsteed
My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
