Poem for my siamese cat Margot

I wake up with a feeling of heaviness everyday

My skin and bones feel brittle like they’re going to break

I dread moving because it will all begin to ache

As I remember who I am and all the pills I have to take

That’s when I stop to look at her face and in that moment I know I’m going to be ok

It’s her sapphire blue eyes staring back at me

Big like two saucers and as deep as the seas

She looks calm and content as can be

I know she is free to roam yet everyday I find her sitting right there on top of me

Her loyalty and love is what pulls me through

I look forward to our naps where her warmth fills the room

She runs to the bed knowing what to do

Climbing under the covers making sure there’s space for me too

There’s not much more to it, that's all I know, a little Siamese cat with a big heart called Margot.
