"Man-made Opposition"

(Self-inflicted)

Those who say

I take too much for granted

never live in His image

In the moment naked.

You never look at your reflection

or worry about what it should resemble

or worry what becomes of you

when it’s all destined.

Opportunity has already been built;

the hand of fate strokes and caresses

while the hands of the clock

want to reign in my fun.

No I won't let man's

self-imposed opposition

define who I've become

before I've even begun.

Shame's ocean of drowning souls

living fast, dying young

while their tired spirits and minds unsung

somewhere next to nameless bodies like vessels

through which their lumber is carried are just beaten down enough

to make them lose their way

mistaking the stressful passage of time

for a passion for life.
