Love of the Water
Poem about fishing in a boat
Pulling the trailer into the water to release the boat,
stepping in the lukewarm water to hold the boat afloat.
Gathering our tackle, poles, and bait,
making sure we are straight after we leave the shore with no wait.
Starting motor to drive fast to get to a great fishing spot
feeling the misty water splash my face a lot.
Put down the anchor and with our bait on we take our first cast,
hoping with the bait we have on will get our first bass fast.
Nothing is like relaxing in your chair, watching your bobber go under,
it startles you so much you jump up and reel in like thunder.
Reeling and reeling carefully not wanting to lose the fish,
watching the pole bend and all you can do is wish.
This one you bring in needs the net,
You know this is the 20-pounder you said you would catch in that bet.
Pulling it in near the boat and you can already see it is big,
You were right on the size because soon as it was in your net it broke your rig.
My first time doing a poem. Thought I would give it a try with my fishing knowledge. Hope you like it.

The largest Bank Robbery Lead to the murder of innocent children
Back in December of 1998, there had been a bank robbery by Timothy Blackburn. This bank robbery remains the largest amount taken in the state of Nevada. 1 million dollars. On the night of the bank robbery. The cleaning crew had been held up by two masked men. They drove to the bank and parked where they would normally park their van every time they clean the bank. They ordered the cleaning crew to clean just as they normally do and waited until an armored truck arrived with the night’s cash pick-up. After a standard security protocol, they call the alarm company makes sure there had been no weird alarms that had gone off. Only reported the cleaning crew inside. Once the vault had been opened up the masked men disarmed the guards and take the shrink-wrapped 1 million dollars. As the masked men removed one of the guns from the armored guards, the gun went off bounced off the floor, and hit the guard in the leg.

Reaching Out
I promise her. I'd do anything for her. She's my mom. Even as Lanie and Deanna are flying home, Mom is scrappy fighting dying. She lays too still in that too-big bed with all the toasty white hospital blankets, in the south tower, at the broad end of a long slow-turning corner that delivers me again to her private room with the view she can't see through, with the beeping that tells us nothing new, and all these ice chips she can't swallow, and a flood of well-intentioned nurses who cannot do a damned thing all the same.
