Rage

Wipe a tear from my eyes

They run down to my chin

Hits, yell and call for help

Many mad red mark made

Pain and hurt felt

Sore ribs, jaw, arms and hand

Blue and grey spot on hips and neck

Run and hide and wait for help

Love

Lips call in lust to me

Meet mine soft and with care

Hold and pull me in

Hand on hip, nose to nose

Hand goes up my back to my neck and held my chin

Lips part and heat rose

Love is in the air

It can all feel the same

β€˜Till it does not…

For all of us who have loved and had to close our hearts even though part of us still longed for what we knew was bad, felt this hard. Amazing work Donna

That's a great poem. A nice idea to talk about both love and rage, as they can be weirdly in the same category of emotion with us humans. It's hard writing a poem with only 4 letter words (I tried and gave up for now πŸ˜…) so it's really nice seeing how you did this deep poem with this restriction.

  • Ashabout a year ago

I truly enjoyed the contrast between the tenderness of love and pain of rage. Also the poem was vivid and in sync.

This struck me somewhere way deep down. I don't know exactly where, why, or how, but I'm still reeling from the impact. Beautifully done!

I really love what you did with this piece. The comparison between hitting out with a hand and the bruises on hips with the tender hand on another's hip was beautiful! Well Done!
