Lost collar swinging, tail a distant dream, Lily's whimpers echo, shattering the happy scene.

Days tick by, posters plead with tear-stained pleas, Will playful paws return on rustling autumn leaves?

Hope flickers faintly, a shadow by the park, A matted blur, a whimper in the dark.

Lily's heart leaps, could it truly be? Her lost pup trots, tail wagging wildly, free.

Tears cascade, washing away despair, Reunited love hangs heavy in the air.

Sniffs and licks, a symphony of pure delight, Lost dog found, bathed in golden afternoon light.

Leash reattached, a joyful skip and hop, Homeward bound, never to wander, never to stop.

For in that reunion, a promise takes its stand, Forever together, paw in loving hand.
