An unstable thread
Held together a precarious bunch,
Flimsy and falling
Leaning forwards-bending-
Searching for balance
In a world off center,
Carrying the weight of
Immaturity, irresponsibility
The weight of voices
Searching for a gap
An opening in a fence
No longer capable of holding
The precarious bunch
Depending upon a loose thread
For security and understanding,
Sliding further away
Catching in wind that howls
Against window pane
And beats against tree trunks
Upheaving the calm night
When least expected,
Tearing and yanking the thread
Fraying at the ends
To continue to center
Uneven and languishing
The stems tumble,
This way and that
To be sorted how they may
Some carried on the wind
With new ideas and notions
Of a freedom
Previously unknown
While others cower in the grass
Finding solace in the loneliness
The peace of solidarity-
While the thread
Flutters away
To find peace
In not being needed.

Does nature mimic humanity or does humanity mimic nature? Sometimes I enjoy reading your writings, more than my Bible.
