Lonely Old Man
Still a King
I have struggled with yes/no on this one, kinda sad, but often true, everyone isn’t blessed with family and friends who care, thankfully I am, hope you all are also. Thanks as always for the read!!
lonely old man,
she said time and again,
her words echoed the room,
but never sank in;
until now,
this moment,
now,
as he sits,
in his chair,
with only a stare,
at nothing,
at no one,
a room,
four barren walls,
filled with emptiness,
haunting silence,
lonely old man,
broken down,
yet still a king,
but, without a crown;
reaching out,
to no one around,
cheer up dear soul,
it’s not you,
it’s life’s toll,
steady your mind,
take control,
but remember,
when it’s your time,
take to your grave,
the words she said;
you’ll be a lonely old man,
when they pronounce you dead!!!
