a night in plattsburgh
the stars gleam like diamonds
and showcases its beauty
despite the brutal, snowy winters
and short, muggy summers.
wish you were here to experience
a night in plattsburgh
i find peace in the night sky
wonder if you’d love the view
especially from my favorite spot
over the tennis courts and sandpit
the moon yawns a good night
while all the glistening stars wave hello.
wonder if you’re one of those stars
or if that’s an old folktale.
still, i find comfort in talking to the moon
hoping that you’ll hear me on the other side.
