Let’s Kiss Our Way to Christmas
Poetry
There’s only one thing I truly want under the Christmas tree this year — that old fuzzy blanket we love so much, your head on my chest and that precious little shy smile you smile that says so much
Babe, you don’t have to get me a thing more than all the magic tucked in our little moments, the kisses and cuddles and the way you look at me that says so much
I’ve decked the living room with little Christmas lights and a cozy little lopsided fire to dance with the flick flickering of all those strands
But best of all is where I hung the mistletoe, got my hand held out to you and your favorite lopsided grin grinning too
Let’s wrap each other up in one another’s arms and call our little moment our little Christmas surprise, passing little kisses and long slow cuddles back and forth
Truth is, it ain’t about what we put fancy paper on, or what we tuck in the pricey looking bags (because let’s be honest, I can’t wrap a surprise to save my life) babe, it’s you and me and all the magic of our little moments that gives Christmas its magic
Lace your fingers with mine and let’s head into the kitchen and see what I’ve got cooked up for your little Christmas surprise, all the lights out but little candles burning, and there on the ceiling the little mistletoe invites us in
Let’s put our favorite songs on and meet under the mistletoe for some Christmas kisses and a little December night swayin’
Darlin’ it ain’t how good the presents are wrapped or even what’s wrapped under all that lopsided paper with its little lopsided bow, but the poetry of our hearts dancing as your soul kisses mine and my soul kisses yours back — its so much and all the little whispers we whisper too
So, let’s wrap each other up in one another’s arms and kiss our way to Christmas, each kiss and the long cuddle that comes after a little Christmas surprise that can’t be wrapped in fancy paper but beats anything that can be bought in a store
Meet me under the mistletoe with Christmas kisses and your fingers laced with mine as we sway to our favorite songs and I ask you, “Did you just twirl?”
Let’s cuddle up close and cozy down, tucking so much in little peeks and shy little smiles, your favorite lopsided grin and the cuddle-worthy song of our little fire popping and cracking out a little December song
Take a deep breath in babe, smell that evergreen smell of Christmas as we kiss and cuddle our way a little closer to mistletoes and Christmas magic tucked in with so much and our little moments, let’s wrap each other up in one another’s arms and call it all our Christmas surprise to each other
I’ve decked the living room with the flick flicker of Christmas lights and a little lopsided fire just right for Christmas kisses and cuddles as we cuddle up close and cozy down, whispering little whispers that whisper so much
Lace your fingers with mine and lay your head on my chest, listen to all the music our hearts make when they sing to one another as you peek little peeks and smile that shy smile that I love so much
There’s only one thing I really want for Christmas and darlin’ that’s the poetry of all your little peeks and that shy smile I love so much, kissing and cuddling our way a little closer to Christmas, and the magic of our little moment with all the little whispers we whisper and so much tucked in
