Let Me Linger

Lying there captured and gone.

I wish the world would stop for the night Maybe the sun will not come and will not rise. So my eyes may catch your eyes, When the moon does not escape the sky. Perhaps if I watch, as we lay side by side, And look at the heavens and the stars up high. I could catch one falling— And wish upon the streaks of light.

Then, maybe, time will let me linger here. If only for a chance to catch your voice in my ear. If time were to let me linger here, My world would shine, and my heart would cheer. Our fleeting lives held so tenderly and dear— Are like a long walk of a short pier, But maybe, eternity— Would never be enough, I fear.

About the Creator

Ryan Blair

My motto is “ars est celare artem,” or “it is true art to conceal art”, this is because I believe that applying thoughtful imperfections to the details are what brings a piece to life.
