CHILDREN BE

Let the children be what they are meant to be

If a bird then let them fly

If a beast then let them roam

Let them be what they ought to be

Don’t hinder them

Lift them up to the sky

And far between the clouds

Right up to the sun

Let their hands reach for the universe

And give them a higher ambition

Powering them with super strength

That they can build where they were birth from

Make their home among the ages

Plant their tree with the wise

Let them live to see a hundred

Maybe they will make their mark upon the stars

You don’t know until you try

You maybe unsure until you believe

Give them hope and give them faith

Create in them a brilliant character

Enrich their lives with books and art

Enrich their souls with questions

And they will grow beyond the horizon

And they will reach for distant places

And they will know that they are not alone

But how can we know what our children possess

Unless we believe at first without seeing

Believe for goodness sake and let your children live.
