Leased Love

It takes two (2) to (to) tango

Starts as an exercise in good faith…

long as it can last…

until the past…

comes creepin’ up on me.

Then,

one click,

a couple of scrolls,

before you are back there.

And now, I am nowhere.

Less stuck, but still nowhere.

One in, one out.

They say she knows. Maybe she does.

God, she is sweet though.

And, yes, there is joy. Sometimes, comfort even.

But she’s leasing it to me and that - I think we both know.

Maybe not to the same extent, but the outcomes the same... Heavy thoughts, whispered doubts, and a sinking sensation that good - may not be good for long.
