Nature's Lesson

Place one foot in front of the other,

Through the mud and sand.

Rise up through the grit and dirt,

Risk taking an unknown hand.

Realize the changing forest,

Feel nature’s oven beat you down.

Don’t let the wind steal your breath,

In this desert you can drown.

Time to shed the skin of the mind,

And take off your boots and clothes.

Free yourself of tradition,

Feel the mud cake between your toes.

Hear the creeks of old stories,

Lingering in your tree.

Let yourself flow like a river,

Learn to be free.
