I’m scared one day I’ll look in the mirror,

And see a stark truth.

A truth not confined to material bodies,

Speaking of expired youth.

A truth in the form of a woman,

Staring back at me with a wearied gaze,

Lines on her forehead,

hair infested with greys.

Protected in a glass reflective crate,

Living in the image another's dream.

She is trapped to disposable efforts,

This reflection begs a scream.
