Law of the Giants

As a descendent of giants, I am required to document and adhere to an ancient code simply called The Law Of The Giants. We’ve got some loose cannons out here, so it is my duty to remind you what the rules are. I didn’t make them so don’t shoot the messenger. I’ve also included some random facts.

If someone shorter than you needs something from a top shelf, it is written that we must assist if we are nearby.

We must learn and practice the art of soft footfall. For the benefit of smaller creatures on the ground, but also to not frighten smaller beings around us.

We are powerful, but this power must be used for the good of all. Many giants in days past used their power for ill will and there is karma to be paid back. Mostly to innocent bystanders on the earth.

Destruction is in our nature and will happen. To balance the scales of the underworld, we must work in collaboration with other beings to bring destruction at the proper times. Particularly those structures that are against the good will of man.

Giants are not good. Giants are just giants.

Brute physical strength is boring unless it is channeled into service.

It is better to be a shield than to angrily raze cities to the ground. Therapy is recommended.

Not everyone will like you. You terrify them. But it is not a story you need to carry.

Know who you are, help those in need and eventually the story will change.

Giants have giant hearts. They feel things in a big way. Oceans were formed by the tears of their pain and trees were grown by the song in their hearts.

If you befriend a Giant, you are under their protection. But if you cross them, you’re on your own. Giants forgive slowly but they never forget.

More giants are waking up now, and they need clothing that fits and looks good. Giants want to be stylish too.

There’s no need for all your ropes, arrows or nuclear weapons. Giants really just want to be loved, so try that first.

A giant’s song is very beautiful but you might need to coax it out of them. Some of them need to be reminded that it’s ok to sing again. They're very senstive.

They don’t eat as much as you might think but they do like meat so don’t try and shame them for that. It’s the circle of life.

Giants are not stupid, they are telepathic. Their frequency can be a bit much to be around at first but luckily they are mostly hermits, preferring to be in wide open spaces, in nature. Or with a few other Giants. But usually they are solitary.

In the word’s the The Spiderman, With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility. Giants were born of massive Stars and Planetary bodies. Most are sleeping within the mountains now but I’ve heard their yawning lately, so it’s best to understand more about them now and not be alarmed when they return. They respond best to kindness.
