“Kill Them with Kindness”

Smother them with Authentic Affection..

Befriend your tormentors - don’t be a victim!

throwaway the guilt of wishing them stricken, and instead

Kill them with kindness

Before you know it you may have made a new friend,

perhaps swerving them to your right way of thinking

(as we are almost always right!)

Kill them with Kindness

Pet their dog, make a joke,

laugh at theirs!

Make a batch of muffins [no poison please]

Kill them with kindness!

Have them drowning in your warm fondness, and

smother them with authentic affection -

Stiff frowns turn to beaming smiles,

Once simmering aggression, now a catalyst to

transmute it into bubbling positivity -

You never know, you might soon be hugging it out!

*

What a nasty, sinking feeling to be mean-treated

and to do so in return...

So, when you wanna scream,

when you wanna curse, blame or shout,

there’s no need to cry, or even to pout, instead

Kill them with kindness.

Wrap them up in smiles, gifts and warm laughter, and

compliment them - they might not know what hit ‘em!

Before you can say enemy, you might be embracing, yet

just behind your back you hold your secret memory dagger,

painted in crimson-red for love, so as

not to forget, but to remember to trust -

Kill them with kindness.

Quick note: A new free verse - finally! 😄 Just some thoughts I’d been having. Had the idea a few weeks back now, but could not get it right. Reworked it a bit and more happy with its flow now. Hope you enjoyed and thanks so much for reading.

Ugh, so sweet....I want to kill em for real. You should read my latest challenge "Savage". I would love to see you being a wicked knight. Please. This was too lovey lovey for me. But we really should love our enemies...Ugh. I hope you dont let me and Dhar being evil ruin your lovely poem. Great work. Hugs and hugs.

  • The repetition of "Kill them with kindness" emphasizes the transformative power of compassion and genuine affection, your words remind us of the potential for growth and reconciliation through acts of kindness, thank you very much for sharing, love your works, hope to read more, subscribed.

  • "[no poison please]" Ughhh, fineeeeee. You're such a party pooper! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 But I don't wanna make a new friend. Oooo, I have a better idea. I should shower them with kindness and become friends and somehow become their best friend. Like become the person that they trust the most. And then I should backstab them! Thanks for the advice G! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Loved your poem!

It's true. Come back at them with a smile and remain unruffled. I love the sentiment in this, Grz, wonderfully expressed.
