Just another rant…
a poem to let it out
Place me in a garden where
Good thoughts grow.
Place me in a chamber where
No one pretends to know everything…
Where like-minds excel beyond limits,
Because we allow ourselves to
Think critically.
Introduce me to people who want better,
And still think it’s cute to send
Hand-written letters.
We all fall sometimes…
Life isn’t just rainbows and rhymes.
So, place me around intelligent people
That will still show their neighbor love.
I want to be around those who choose to
Smile and laugh despite their mood.
Don’t place me near the ones that are
Itching to shove another person down—
To lift themselves up.
Even if they try,
I won’t let them see me frown.
What do I look like letting a hater
Play me out of my crown?

I want to grow
I want to grow and I’m going to grow. I’m not going to be this version of myself anymore and you won’t know who I become. You won’t talk to her, or be by her side as she goes through life— you won’t know her. Her heart won’t even remember the small moments that’ve clung to it for so long. I’ll watch her embrace a new life that has nothing to do with you, and there won’t be a space waiting like there has been for far too long.
