1. I know how my eyes look in the sun

like honey and milking your morning coffee

like I caught you

as if you see the depths of my soul and know this body is the only new thing here

I think my past lives are intertwined with yours

we met before

2. I searched for her Instagram

she will never know I needed more time

how hungry my eyes were to study

I usually feed off of the seconds as if I don’t trust myself

3. I can bring him back to me

when I gather the energy to talk about it I hear his laughter

I see it right across this very room or on my side- the same way you tattooed our starting conversations on my left ear

4. Our birthmarks were like long lost lovers

rekindled in their 50s

for that I believed our souls would cling

love poems
