A claustrophobic

anxiety/social anxiety cocktail—

~

synapses, neurons, and pathways

become static

when strangers are inquired invitation

to my home

amplify static per person

upon arrival

debilitating chaos ensues

~

my nerves, frayed wires

rapid shocks to my nervous system

~

realistic illusion my heart

stopping

falling

to the pit of my stomach

~

on the floor

knees held against my chest

a hunched human cluster

I become.
